AFLA (Alaska)
We drove to the mountains in Michele Whaley’s van: Abby, Marcia, Art , Michele, Laurie Clarq, and me all in one van! We stopped at Long Rifle Restaurant for lunch. Good food and a beautiful view of the Glacier. Also lots of taxidermy to keep us company while we ate. Glacier View School is the location for the conference. This is a view from the school! The evening keynote was at the lodge where we stayed. It was presented by AEIN, Alaska Educational Innovations Network. It was an awesome presentation on their experiences working together over the past three years, and a video that showed their example of networking across the state. They did a song/dance and talked about how the network is helping them improve their teaching skills. Really exciting feeling in the air.
